International

International action is a determining axis of the strategy and development of Clermont Auvergne INP. It allows the influence of its research activities, aims to develop a training offer adapted to international audiences and allows our engineers and doctors to acquire international experience which will be essential for their professional career.

The objectives of opening up internationally are:

The internationalization of engineering training(more than 600 international mobilities per year), master’s students and doctors so that graduates are able to embark on an international trajectory and working in multicultural contexts. Several levers are available for this:

  • outgoing mobility of students and doctoral students. These mobilities can also be carried out remotely (Internationalization at Home, IAD)
  • incoming mobilities of international students and doctoral students
  • mobility of teachers and teacher-researchers. They can be outgoing or incoming (international guest speakers)

The internationalization of the establishment. This component calls for actions linked to the preparation of all stakeholders for a global world, taking into account the notion of inclusion, social impact, support for countries in development in particular via their higher education and research systems.

Clermont Auvergne INP is a signatory of the Erasmus charter
and holds the Bienvenue en France label.

International partnerships and programs

Clermont Auvergne INP cooperates with a large number of universities around the world, in different ways. Some cooperation concerns research projects or strategic development.

With certain partners, we have student exchange agreements. With some universities we cooperate in several different areas and we have exchange agreements at the same time.

Currently Clermont Auvergne INP maintains relationships with more than 200 university partners.

Depending on the scope, organizational basis and type, cooperations can exist at several different structural levels. Some cooperations are concluded within the framework of pre-existing programs such as Erasmus+ (EU exchange program) or for example FITEC (exchange program within the framework of cooperations with South America).

Erasmus +

Erasmus+ is the European Union program for education, training, youth and sport. Erasmus+ combines previously separate European programs for lifelong learning, youth and sport, as well as programs supporting cooperation between European universities.

The underlying cross-cutting priorities of the new generation of programs are as follows:

  • Inclusion and diversity
  • Digital transformation
  • Environment and fight against climate change
  • Participation in democratic life

All activities must meet program priorities.

The program consists of three key actions:

  • Key action 1 – Mobility of people for learning purposes
  • Key action 2 – Cooperation for innovation and exchange of good practices
  • Key action 3 – Support for policy reform

Clermont Auvergne INP has participated in the ERASMUS program since its beginnings.

Clermont Auvergne INP also successfully applied for an Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) for the new generation of EU education programmes, which are brought together under the Erasmus+ banner. The Charter is a prerequisite for all universities wishing to participate in Erasmus+ programs between 2021 and 2027.

Short programs

Summer schools and short courses are aimed at students from all over the world. They offer the opportunity to discover life in a leading engineering school, located in a lively and cultured city.

Currently different summer/winter schools are organized by Clermont Auvergne INP. They are located in Clermont-Ferrand, Toyko (Japan) and soon in Chennai (India).

Advantages of our summer / winter schools

Develop their academic,
Develop their academic, communication and linguistic skills in English and French.

Build their confidence and improve their transferable skills,
such as teamwork in an international context.

Enhance their international outlook and cross-cultural awareness,
and meet people from other countries among our diverse community of staff and students.

Broaden their horizons and develop their way of thinking.
